Police Brutality in Gainesville

The tasering of Andrew Meyer at a John Kerry speech on UF campus is just another example of reactionary police tactics. Police are over-exposed, directly and indirectly, to violence. In my opinion, more needs to be done to address the psychological well-being of officers. That might prevent scenes such as these.

Earlier this evening, President Bush outlined a plan for the withdrawal of thousands of troops from Iraq. He would not, however, call it a “withdrawal”. Instead, he spoke out of the side of his mouth about progress in Iraq — once again linking Iraq and Iran to terrorism and terrorist groups.

Colbert for Vice President?

Stephen Colbert interviewed Republican presidential candidate, Mike Huckabee, earlier this evening. It was, as always, a humorous interview. Once again, Colbert was jokingly introduced as a running mate.
The real ticket would feature John Stewart as President and Stephen Colbert as VP on an independent ticket. I’m sure I’m the 900th person to say such, [...]
